How to Move to a More Agile Mindset
The Agile Manifesto was originally a response to many who push a formal, high-ceremony, lots-of-artifacts software manufacturing process which is inappropriate for the nature of most software development projects. At times the words agile or extreme have been hijacked by seat of the pants software geeks as an excuse to do what they feel like doing rather than producing what the people paying them really want. Some organizations who have a proven track record of software project failure take the worst of both non-agile approaches, call it agile, continue to fail, and blame it on Kent Beck.
So, what is the agile mindset and how do we get there from wherever we currently sit?
Our speaker will look at each of the key assertions of the agile manifesto, and share his experiences and insight to help enlighten the audience on actions they can take to improve their software development efforts by changing the way they approach a software project. The audience will be challenged to leave this meeting with an action plan to develop a more agile mindset and workplace.
